Decided by
Board of Health
Hearing length
81 minutes

Somerville's Board of Health adopted Nicotine-Free Generation regulations and nicotine pouch restrictions on March 20, 2025, effective May 1. The vote was unanimous.

The city released Board of Health minutes from January through March 2025, correspondence, state grant reports, template regulations, advocacy materials and the adopted regulations themselves.

Somerville is a compact illustration of the pattern documented across this site: the substantive questions resolved at a meeting a month before the hearing, a hearing filled largely by the same advocates who appear in town after town, and state grant reports that record the adoption as a funded deliverable.
