Adopted — June 10, 2026, by a vote of 2 to 0; effective January 1, 2027Easthampton's Board of Health voted 2 to 0 on June 10, 2026 to adopt a Nicotine-Free Generation regulation with a birthdate cutoff of January 1, 2006, and to move all nicotine pouch sales to adult-only tobacco stores. The pouch restriction takes effect September 10, 2026; the birthdate provision on January 1, 2027.
The city's production is one of the most complete on this site, tracing the sequence from first contact to final vote across roughly fifty email threads spanning May 2025 to June 2026.
It is also the clearest illustration of how towns are selected. Easthampton did not seek the policy out; it answered a mass survey, and the answer it gave determined what happened next.
